5:1 Extract Powder Bottles - Update
Ban Xia - Update Jiang Ban Xia/ Pinellia ternata rhizome gingered #5698SF Fa Ban Xia/ Pinellia ternata rhizome #5798SF Formerly only Qing Ban Xia was available. Qing Ban Xia is processed with water alumen to reduce its drying nature. It is more for deficient or weak patients with accumulation of dampness and phlegm. Qing Ban Xia has been replaced with Fa Ban Xia for #5798SF. Wu Wei Zi - UpdateJuly 2007 Wu Wei Zi/ Schisandra whole herb is now available in two grades. Due to recent spike in world prices for this herb we are now offering two species varieties of Wu Wei Zi. The premium grade is #5420SF Schisandra chinensis fruit. A more economical alternative, #5421SF Schisandra Sphenanthera fruit is now also obtainable. Wu Wei Zi/ Schisandra chinensis fruit (#5420SF) is the original species of this herb and is the variety of higher medicinal quality. Wu Wei Zi /Schisandra Sphenanthera fruit (#5421SF) is a species variation commonly known as “Southern” Wu Wei Zi. It is functionally similar to the chinensis species but is generally considered to be a weaker in its medicinal action. It is believed to be less tonifying, but able to regulate qi, transform dampness, and reduce phlegm and is often used for cough and wheezing. References: Materia Medica 3rd edition Bensky, Clavey and Stoger Da Xiao Ji - Update June 2007 5475SF Da Xiao Ji has been modified and changed to Xiao Ji. Formerly this product was a combination of two herbs, Da Ji/ Japonicum herb and Xiao Ji/ Cirsium Setosum. This product now contains only Xiao Ji/ Cirsium Setosum. Da Ji and Xiao Ji are both herbs in the Regulate Blood category that act to cool the Blood and stop bleeding. Historically have been commonly used together to treat bleeding due to heat in the Blood. Xiao Ji/ Cirsium Setosum is considered to be somewhat weaker than Da Ji, but is also considered to be safer, as well as better in promoting urination. It is especially indicated for heat or damp-heat induced blood in the urine. Huo Ma Ren - Update May 2007 5350SF Huo Ma Ren/ Cannabis sativa seed has been hulled and split (crushed) in accordance with the USDA regulations to prevent germination. These seeds may look different from what we distributed previously. Its medicinal functions are the same.
