Proceeds from the sale of our 2020 calendar will benefit The Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic (CMCC) provides complementary integrative medicine (CIM) treatments and safety net social services free of charge to over 800 low-income women with cancer. Over 400 volunteer practitioners offer acupuncture, Chinese and western herbs, massage, homeopathy and guided imagery in a comprehensive case management model. CIM treatments are especially effective in reducing the pain, fatigue, and nausea common during chemotherapy or radiation, increasing the odds that clients will be able to complete their conventional treatments. Safety net social services include emergency funds, transportation, interpretation, yoga and cooking classes, lymphedema workshops and an organic foods program. CMCC also has an In-Home Comfort Care Program for clients with end-stage cancer. Open since 1991, CMCC has 2 clinics - downtown Oakland and San Francisco's Mission district.
