Our Story

Mayway is a multigenerational family business importing and distributing traditional Chinese medicine. In 1969, our parents escaped communism in China to open a tiny herb shop in San Francisco’s Chinatown. Inspired by their hopes for the future and to honor their adopted country, they named it Mayway 美威 “America is Mighty”.Our grandfather was the village herbalist and our parents served the Chinese community in the San Francisco Bay Area. As first-generation Americans, we envision a future in which traditional Chinese medicine is fully integrated into American life.
