This is the second course in a series of 8. The first course is a required prerequisite for all subsequent courses. Course 2 will review the herbal categories Clear Heat and Eliminate Wind Dampness. The review will include graphs comparing individual herb functions, thermal properties, entering meridians and best use for each herb. Discussion will include examples of specific applications of herbs within the category, and common Dui Yao combinations used frequently in classic herbal prescriptions. Brief case studies will also be used to highlight specific functions of herbs. Student questions will be answered when presented.Mark W. Professor Frost teaches in both the Masters and Doctoral Programs, serves as a clinical supervisor in colleges Community Clinic, and has had a private practice in San Francisco for over 30 years. He is the author of numerous articles on Chinese herbal medicine and has been an active presenter at TCM conferences since 2014.
