Herb Supply April 2020 Update

by Eva Lau, Mayway Vice President

Supply Chain

Our manufacturers and suppliers in China are completely in operation (and working over-time) to fulfill our orders. Mayway Hebei, our herb processing arm, is reporting that while the prices of many whole herbs such as Jin yin hua are higher than ever, supply looks steady. The question will be whether there will be a surge in demand once the harvest season commences next month.

We are currently well-stocked on popular items such as Yin Chiao Tablets (blister pack), Gan Mao Ling, and Jade Screen Teapills/Yu Ping Feng. One recently popular formula, Ban Lan Gen Tablets, is in production and we do not expect to become out of stock. Yin Chiao in both sugar-coated and extra-concentrated versions are arriving at the end of May.

Some popular extract powders such as Ban Lan Gen, Zhi Gan Cao, and Huo Xiang are running low, but are on order and should be arriving by mid-May.

Some customers have been curious about what other practitioners have been ordering. We can report that besides the obvious formulas such as Gan Mao Ling and Jade Screen, there has been a surge in sales of these Teapills: Release the Exterior/Jing Fang Bai Du, Universal Benefit/Pu Ji Xiao Du Yin, Bai Xing Shi Gan, Huo Xiang Zheng Qi, Xiao Chai Hu Tang, Ping Chuan, Clear Mountain Air/Ding Chuan, Autumn Rain/Sha Shen Mai Men Dong, Bupleurum Shu Gan/Chai Hu Shu Gan and Serene Spirit/Gan Mai Da Zao.

Please be reminded that we may restrict ordering quantities to ensure that everyone can get what they need. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
