Gratitude is what many of us feel and reflect upon this season. In that spirit, here are some east Asian medicine (EAM) organizations that we appreciate and support, and hope that you will consider supporting too. They all work in some way to promote traditional Chinese medicine, while fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB)

Provides disaster relief, recovery and support for building resiliency to communities affected by disasters, human conflict, environmental devastation, poverty and social injustice since 2005.

American Dragon

Offers a free public website with unbiased, in-depth acupuncture and herbal diagnostic information and educational videos compiled and maintained by Dr. Joel Penner before his passing in 2020. The website is being maintained by Dr. Penner’s daughter and is an invaluable resource for all practitioners. Please help her to continue supporting his legacy!

American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA)

Promotes the highest standards of professional practice for acupuncture and east Asian medicine in the United States through strengthening the profession at the state level while promoting collaboration nationally and internationally.

Charlotte Maxwell Clinic

Provides integrative cancer care and supportive services in California for Bay Area underserved women living with cancer. Celebrating 30 years of compassion and empathy.

The Inn Spot

This Veteran-owned community acupuncture clinic offers low-cost acupuncture treatments and focuses on the military and first responders as well as the San Diego, CA community to ensure that finances are not a barrier to receiving holistic health care services.

Misha Ruth Cohen Education Foundation

The Misha Ruth Cohen Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources and education to medical professionals, patients, and the community. The foundation focuses on integrating Western and Eastern medicine, specifically Chinese traditional medicine, in the treatment of complex health issues.

Pine Street Foundation

Founded in 1989, the Pine Street Foundation’s mission is to help people with cancer and other chronic or debilitating diseases reach more informed treatment decisions through education, research, and community-based medical service programs. The Pine Street Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity and makes the results of their efforts widely available to other researchers, practitioners, and patients.

Shen Nong Society

Develops and supports the professional goals of a community of EAM practitioners who design and recommend individualized formulations of herbs and natural products for their patients.

Society for Acupuncture Research

The Society for Acupuncture Research is dedicated to improving the quality and increasing the awareness of research in acupuncture, herbal therapy and other modalities of east Asian medicine. This membership organization invites you to join the global dialogue that ultimately impacts the clinical scope and practice of the profession and offers monthly payment options for individual professional members.
